In summer 2023, I took part in a project around Cœur vintage, a Zone 3 production broadcast on ICI TOU.TV. My assignment focused on its behind-the-scenes world: filming what happens behind the drama and creating videos that reveal the work on set.

A series shows us characters, places and a story. Behind-the-scenes content opens another door. It lets us see how a set becomes a lived-in place, how teams prepare and how everyone’s actions contribute to a scene. It was that life around the takes that I wanted to tell.

The July shoots supplied four segments: the apartment, the clinic, the bookstore and the exteriors. Each offered a different entry point into the project’s world. Rather than gathering everything into one overview, these videos gave space to the locations and what made each environment distinctive.

I worked on camera and in the edit, collaborating in particular with Elizabeth Benoit and Éric Lambert. We had to pay attention to the drama being made while finding images that could tell the story of its making. On a set already in motion, this observation means staying available, recognizing the right moments and then building a clear story from the material.

In my independent filmmaking career, behind-the-scenes projects hold a special place. They give me access to a collective creation and invite me to make visible some of the work that often remains off screen. Editing becomes a way to connect gestures, spaces and people without losing the feeling of being close to the set.

I remember Cœur vintage as an attentive collaboration and the pleasure of bringing these four complementary perspectives to life. Behind the series’ story was also the story of a team at work. Helping tell it is one of the rewarding encounters in my profession.
