Cain Lamarre: A Collaboration Built One Video at a Time

Some collaborations find their meaning over time. With Cain Lamarre, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects and contribute at different stages of production: filming, directing, editing and motion design.
Over the years, I’ve edited several portraits and interviews, including a video about the construction sector with JCB, a portrait of Christopher Coggan and an interview with Judge Wery. These projects allowed me to work with people and their words, each time seeking the best way to bring a story out of the interviews.
I’ve also created content about Cain Lamarre’s different offices, including Montréal, Québec City and Sept-Îles. For some of these projects, the edit combined on-location footage, archives, animated text and motion design.
Another important part of this collaboration developed around the graphic identity of the firm’s videos. I created graphic elements, logo animations, openings and endings, as well as an animated map of Québec. I also produced motion design content to accompany announcements, recognitions and various Cain Lamarre communications.
There were also individual shoots: a video about the circular economy with CERIEC, the leadership’s year-end message filmed in Québec City and a message from Stéphane Lamarre for the ACQ.
In 2026, the collaboration continued with a project on another scale: a video for TAGLaw’s international conference. This time, the assignment was to introduce Cain Lamarre and Montréal to an international network, bringing filming, directing, editing and visual creation together around one idea.
What I particularly appreciate about this collaboration is precisely that variety. From one project to the next, I can move from an interview to an animation, from a portrait to a company shoot or a more ambitious production. Over time, continuity has developed, both in our working methods and in the visual language we’ve built together.
