In February 2024, I worked with Passez Go on a promotional video for In Memoriam. My assignment focused on interviews with the people bringing the series to life, then building a short film combining their words with scenes from the drama.

Directed by Marie-Claude Blouin and Félix Tétreault, the series features Evelyne Brochu, Éric Bruneau, Catherine Brunet and Jean-Simon Leduc, among others. It began airing on Crave on March 28, 2024. My involvement was in content supporting its introduction, with a video prepared for the Coming Next Québec industry event at Séries Mania.

I contributed to directing and cinematography for the interviews, then to editing the video. With content producer Patrick Martin and Marie-Christine Lavoie, the work was to find a way to introduce the project’s characters, themes and intentions through its collaborators’ voices.

Filming an interview about a drama is a particular kind of encounter. You hear people talk about characters they know intimately, artistic choices and a world they helped build. Behind the camera, you need to leave space for those words; in the edit, you need to find connections that allow viewers to enter the story.

Clips and the trailer supplied by the production entered into dialogue with the interviews. My work was to shape them into a coherent whole, offering both a glimpse of the series and access to the perspectives of those who created it. Another way to accompany a drama: telling the story of what drives it, beyond its images alone.

I remember this project as a collaboration bringing together several stages of my work. Moving from preparation to filming, then editing, allowed me to follow the story’s thread and contribute to its clarity. In my independent career, these encounters with creative teams feed both my perspective and my way of working.
