Georges St-Pierre in Montréal: Filming and Editing Around UFC 154
I filmed Georges St-Pierre in the days before UFC 154 in Montréal, as part of a Tourisme Montréal assignment with Sid Lee. The project needed to capture the excitement around his return to the Bell Centre and be delivered before the fight.
Filming took place over two days around the press conference and training activities. With many media outlets present, I sought to vary viewpoints and bring back images of Georges St-Pierre amid the activity. The team also wanted to gather his thoughts on what fighting in Montréal meant to him.
Editing then happened on a very short schedule. By the evening of the second filming day, the video needed to be ready for the next morning. This assignment brings together two stages of my work: capturing a current event in the field, then quickly building a video that conveys its energy. The film found in my archives preserves a record of this production made at the event’s pace.
