In fall 2025, I collaborated with Groupe Livre Québecor on a trailer for Fille-mère, Ingrid Falaise’s novel. The project brought together several aspects of my work as an independent filmmaker: developing a visual proposal, filming, editing and bringing graphic elements into motion.

The starting point came from Ingrid: an image taking shape like a puzzle. I developed that direction for the screen, exploring fragments, transitions and a more stripped-back approach. Our conversations refined the rhythm and helped us find a way to bring the idea to life in a short video.

Filming took place in my studio on September 24, 2025. After that stage, the work continued in the edit with narration, visual proposals and adjustments for the final versions. The television files were approved in October, with the broadcast launch announced for October 13.

Creating a book trailer means suggesting a world in very little time. Images, voice and music need to make people want to discover the story while leaving readers room for their own imagination. That search is what interests me in this kind of collaboration.

I remember this project as a creative dialogue in which an initial idea took shape through experimentation. Conversations around the versions and the behind-the-scenes content produced afterward extend that memory: a collaboration between an author, a publishing team and my perspective as a videographer.
