On May 8, 2014, two Tourisme Montréal campaigns were recognized at the Prix Média: MTL à TABLE for its use of video platforms, and #MTLMOMENTS for social web and mobile. This recognition echoes an important period of my career when I contributed to video work promoting Montréal.

MTL à TABLE received a Grand Prix in the Best Use of Video Platforms category. The campaign connected Montréal’s culinary world with a multiplatform content strategy. #MTLMOMENTS, meanwhile, showcased experiences in the city, giving a central place to moments shared by visitors and Montréalers.

My contribution was in video production for these campaigns. This work was part of my first professional collaborations with Sid Lee, Jimmy Lee and Tourisme Montréal. It brought me into a collective creation where images needed to find their place within a broader intention: telling the city’s story and making people want to discover it.

These distinctions were awarded to the campaigns and the teams behind them. For me, they represent the satisfaction of participating in projects whose creation and distribution were recognized. They also remind us that results come from several disciplines meeting: ideas, images, strategy and the people bringing content to life.

At the beginning of an independent career, these collaborations matter. They offer a chance to work alongside experienced teams, learn to understand an intention and contribute a personal perspective. I remember the pleasure of seeing video work help create a living representation of Montréal.

The campaigns’ recognition adds a marker to these memories. What remains above all is the journey shared with the teams and the place these projects took in my way of creating: images designed to reach people, tell the story of a place and extend the desire for an encounter.
