From a very young age, Guillaume was fascinated by the television show Sonia Benezra, marking the beginning of a deep interest in television. At just four years old, he had the chance to fulfill his greatest dream: meeting his idol, Sonia. A defining memory that would stay with him throughout his journey.

Theater

Through theatre, Guillaume discovered performance, presence, and rhythm—an experience that would later lead him toward production and working behind the camera. Deeply committed, he became involved in every theatre group that shaped his journey, from high school through university.

Television

His first projects broadcast on television took the form of trailers created for the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM), as part of a collaboration that spanned several years.

Tourisme Montréal

Guillaume actively contributed to the city’s coverage in collaboration with Tourisme Montréal’s internal communications production team, meeting the growing demand for video content across social media platforms.

Director – Videographer

Camera in hand, he filmed Montréal from end to end, from morning to night—moving from one event to the next, from restaurants to festivals, and from parks to alleyways, capturing the city’s atmosphere, rhythm, and quiet moments in between.

Cult Nation : Lesser Evil

Guillaume contributed to the direction and editing of four unique music videos built from personal family archives belonging to the Langlois family. Produced by the renowned company Cult Nation, these videos are at once nostalgic, creative, and deeply moving.

Each video delves into intimate memories, weaving a moving visual narrative that stands out for its sincerity and inventiveness. A tribute to family memory through a contemporary artistic approach.

Pamplemousse : La Commande Culturelle

As part of La Commande culturelle, a web series hosted by France Beaudoin in which artists delivered surprise performances to individuals during Zoom meetings, Guillaume handled the complete direction and technical post-production from his home studio.

He oversaw on-air direction, technical management, audio mixing, video synchronization, and all transitions, ensuring optimal quality for each episode. Thanks to his expertise, the series was nominated twice at the Gémeaux Awards—in the categories of Best Web Series and Best Animation, the latter won by the remarkable France Beaudoin.

Still Life

Still Life is an in situ dance-theatre performance featuring two women and two couches, set in two different cities, one in Berlin, the other in Montréal. Through the magic of video, the two performers connect to create a weird and playful choreography.

Ward & associés

For Ward & Associés, a renowned wine import company based in Montréal, Guillaume created a series of creative, impactful, and distinctive videos.

With a vivid, raw visual style, each video reflects the originality and authenticity of Ward & Associés, proving that excellence in wine doesn’t have to take itself too seriously.

Under a full-time directing contract with Québécor Média, Guillaume directed major news reports for 24 heures, notably in collaboration with journalist Félix Pedneault. He also directed short-form segments for Silo 57 and other entities within the group.

Prospero x La maladie de la mort

Guillaume Langlois directed, shot, and handled post-production for the trailer of La Maladie de la mort, a stage adaptation of the text by Marguerite Duras, directed by Martine Beaulne and presented at Théâtre Prospero.

Greluche: Le film

Greluche the Clown is the alter ego of Isabelle, 64.

Director of Photography

Filmed over five years, this film portrays Greluche on the eve of retirement, telling the fable of a free-spirited, unconventional woman for whom childhood remains eternal through her inner magical forest. Exploring themes of aging, dual identity, and madness, the film examines how sublimation through imagination has become a survival mechanism for the woman behind the clown.

Guillaume Langlois served as Director of Photography on Le Magasin, a hybrid work conceived by Odile Gamache and Philippe Cyr, produced by L’Homme allumette in co-production with Usine C.

Presented online as part of the 39th edition of the Festival International du Film sur l’Art (FIFA), this textless, performer-free work offers an aesthetic reflection on the transformation of commerce and its role as a space for material and social exchange. Through a series of scenographic video capsules, Le Magasin invites viewers into a poetic immersion where objects become the protagonists of a visual choreography, bearing witness to the obsolescence of abandoned commercial spaces in the digital age.

Relaunch Summer: Downtown Montréal Reimagined.

Guillaume Langlois served as director and director of photography for Relaunch Summer: Downtown Montréal Reimagined, an initiative led by Quartier des spectacles as part of a post-lockdown cultural revival in Montréal.

For the Gala Québec Cinéma, Guillaume was commissioned to create the video announcing the new host of the 2024 edition, Phil Roy.
